Tuesday, March 4, 2014
To chose a food under International cuisine with starting letter as U wasnt that much difficult for me, coz Umm ali was in my to do list since ages. Actually this Umm ali, a delicious dessert goes for an easy breezy preparation and its a famous bread pudding of Egypt. Everyone have their own version of Umm ali, some may goes for phyllo dough, some goes for crossisants while other goes for stale bread. But i chosed puff pastry to make this flaky and very nutty pudding. I used dessicated coconut flakes, nuts and some dry fruits. This recipe can be adapted easily with anything thats available in your pantry.
This pudding have a story behind it, but who cares we just enjoyed thoroughly this easy pudding, every single bite of this pudding is just out of the world. Within less than half an hour, this incredible pudding gets ready to relish and you can have it either warm or chilled with a scoop of vanilla icecream. Somehow ill advice you to use puff pastry for making this pudding than crossisants or stale breads coz puff pastry gives a superb flaky texture to this pudding. If you a crowd to feed during a party, make this Umm ali for the dessert am sure everyone will enjoy thoroughly this pudding coz its completely egg free and very simple to prepare.

Tuesday, February 11, 2014
You might heard lot about Lapsi, a beautiful sweet prepared with wheat rava aka dalia, but my todays recipe is going to be an another lapsi from Rajasthan. Rajasthani lapsi are traditionally prepared with jaggery and with ghee along with nuts and raisins. They looks dark in colour and they tastes absolutely fabulous. I erred two blogs for this lapsi and got a better idea about this lapsi finally tried it. They turned out extremely delicious and i couldnt stop myself having it. But this recipe is from Priyas Mharo Rajasthans Recipes instead of sugar i used jaggery apart from it, i followed Priyas recipes.
Since this week is going to be traditional foods for blogging marathon, am posting again a beautiful sweet from Rajasthan. Make some lapsi with jaggery next time if you are planning for,am sure you guys will love it.Check out the Blogging Marathon page for the other Blogging Marathoners doing BM#27.Sending to my own event CWS-Almonds guest hosted by Preeti of Simply Tadka.

1cup Wheat rava/Broken wheat
3/4cup Ghee

Add the water, jaggery to the roasted broken wheat and cook in simmer until the broken wheat gets well cooked.
Finally add the raisins and almonds, cook again for few more minutes.

Eggless Strawberry Pudding
Saturday, January 25, 2014
Pudding goes always for eggs, but my todays post is completely an eggless, gelatin free, agar agar free pudding. You may think then how i made this pudding. Ok let me say what i used for making this eggless strawberry pudding, i used the humble vanilla flavoured custard powder for making this pudding. Seriously this pudding is one of the easiest, very delicious, fruity and an excellent light dessert after a heavy meal. Actually i used frozen strawberries for making this pudding coz its not strawberry season here.Since i freezed earlier some super fresh sweet strawberries, they are really handy now to make this kind of quick and easy desserts whenever i crave for some strawberry desserts.
This is my second post for this weeks blogging marathon under the theme Cooking with fruits, Srivalli gave a list of fruits for us to choose and cook from the list. I chosed berries and cooked with strawberries. After a Bengali sweet with strawberries i prepared this fantastic pudding with some frozen strawberries, we just enjoyed thoroughly this eggless chilled strawberry pudding after our Sunday lunch.Check out the Blogging Marathon page for the other Blogging Marathoners doing BM#34.If you want to make this pudding with chocolates, just go for chocolate powder or melted chocolate.
