Asthma can be cured by itself when an adult child

Friday, May 16, 2014

Asthma can be cured by itself when an adult child - Asthma sufferers would be so excruciating, especially if the affected are children. However, a recent study indicates that asthma can be cured by itself when the children get older. Unfortunately, the possibility of recovering this only occurs in one in five children affected by asthma.

Even so, it would not seem to apply to girls who had asthma as allergic to furry animals like dogs and cats. Research has shown that girls with the allergy to heal on its own as an adult is quite small.

These results were found after Swedish researchers followed 200 children with asthma. When 19-year-old, 21 percent of children has decreased asthma symptoms. They no longer frequent shortness of breath and did not need the inhaler device. Decrease in these symptoms is more common in boys.

"The sensitivity of the furry animals and asthma are more acute at the age of seven to eight years did not decline as adults," said study author Dr. Martin Anderson from the Obstructive Lung Disease in Northern Sweden, as reported by U.S. News.

Many children who have asthma as a child had fallen when grown. But doctors rarely consider it a cure for fear of asthma will appear again when the children met with asthma triggers. Researchers found that the reduction rate can range between 16-60 percent in adolescents.

This study provides hope for parents to see their children recover from asthma. However, this study also did not provide a guarantee. Unfortunately, this study did not clarify whether the treatment of asthma like allergy shots can affect the possibility of recovery from asthma in the future.

Clean pacifier by sucking away children from asthma

Monday, April 7, 2014

Cleaning pacifier sucking ways might be considered dirty. Most parents will clean pacifier by washing with tap water. But the researchers found that older people who clean pacifier to suck can keep children from the risk of asthma and hives.

This study does not prove that the technique may protect children from asthma or allergies. However, researchers believe that the possibility of transfer of oral bacteria and microbes of parents in children can boost the immune system and the digestive system which in turn makes the child they are exposed to a small risk of allergy or asthma.

"We know that bacteria are also important for growing children," said Dr. Wilfried Karmaus from the University of Memphis, as reported by Reuters.

In this research, scientists recruited pregnant women in one of the Swedish hospitals and followed them for three years. Of the 184 infants who were observed, 80 percent have parents with allergies. After the babies were tested at the age of 18 and 36 months.

In the first test 46 infants have eczema and 10 had symptoms of asthma. Children who use the usual dot cleaned by his mother smoked by 63 percent less likely to have eczema and 88 percent less affected by asthma.

While in the second test, when the baby was 36 months, the difference for asthma began to disappear, while babies with pacifiers are cleaned by his mother smoked still have a 49 percent lower risk of developing eczema.

Researchers believe that more research must be done to demonstrate clearly the benefits of cleaning with megisapnya dot. Before clear, researchers would not recommend this technique for the parents.

Home remedies for asthma

Sunday, March 16, 2014

Severe asthma attacks can be life-threatening. If you have symptoms of asthma, try natural home remedies to feel better and ward off any chances of asthma attacks. If your asthmatic, don,t worry. In this post i will try to show you how you can keep your triggers at bay and enjoy an awesome healthy life.

What is asthma?

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory lung disease which causes difficulty in breathing easily. It affects the airways that carry air to and from your lungs. The inside walls of an asthmatics airways are swollen or inflamed. This swelling or inflammation makes the airways obstructed by tightening of muscles, irritation or accumulation of mucous thereby resulting in asthma. Symptoms associated with asthma are coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and chest tightness.

The tendency to develop asthma is inherited, and it is more common among people who have allergies. Indeed, there are two forms of asthma, allergic asthma and nonallergic asthma, with the allergic form being more common. Allergic asthma develops in people who have allergies, and the same substances (called allergens) that provoke their allergy symptoms also trigger their asthma symptoms. Both the allergy and asthma symptoms are the product of an overreaction by the immune system.

However, with good treatment and management there is no reason why a person with asthma cannot live a normal and active lifeBoth types of asthma have triggers, and vigilant awareness of these triggers is the first step in living comfortably with asthma. Common triggers for allergic asthma include dust mites, pollen, mold, and pet dander. However, allergies can come from almost any substance like air pollution, respiratory infections, sulfites in food and certain medications.

Non allergic or acute asthma can be sparked by dry air, cold weather, exercise, smoke (including the secondhand variety), strong perfume, stressful situations, intense emotions, even laughing.

How to treat asthma?

Recent asthma statistics show this disease now affects 19 million people in the United States alone. Asthma is the number one cause of chronic illness in kids, affecting more than 5.5 million children. Although the number of asthma cases continues to climb, still, there is reason to be hopeful if you are one of the millions of asthmatics across the world, researchers are determined to develop more effective treatments. Plus, there are a number of home remedies you can try to ward off attacks and alleviate symptoms.

Although many people with asthma rely on medications to prevent and relieve symptoms, you can do several things on your own to maintain your health and lessen the possibility of asthma attacks. Asthma is an incurable illness. All the medicine in the world wont help an asthma sufferer if he or she smokes. The most expensive air filter you can buy wont make a bit of difference if you leave your windows wide open. The key is to track down your triggers and, as completely as possible, eliminate them from your life. you can take following preventive steps ....

Preventive measure for asthma

Generally, you spend most of the time in your house, so the most important battlefront in controlling your asthma is your own house. The continual exposure to asthma triggers will eventually lead to an attack. Here are some preventive steps you can try to make your home as asthma-safe as possible:

  • Reduce pet dander. If youre allergic to dander, avoid pets with fur or feathers. Having pets regularly bathed or groomed also may reduce the amount of dander in your surroundings.
  • Use your air conditioner. Air conditioning reduces the amount of airborne pollen from trees, grasses and weeds that finds its way indoors. Air conditioning also lowers indoor humidity and can reduce your exposure to dust mites. If you dont have air conditioning, try to keep your windows closed during pollen season.
  • Prevent mold spores. Clean damp areas in the bath, kitchen and around the house to keep mold spores from developing. Get rid of moldy leaves or damp firewood in the yard.
  • Minimize dust. Dust mites are one of the most common allergic asthma triggers. Theyre everywhere in your home, although they love the bedroom most because they feed on the dead skin cells we constantly shed. Banishing dust mites from your home, or at least reducing their ranks, will help ease symptoms. For example, encase pillows, mattresses and box springs in dust-proof covers. Remove carpeting and install hardwood or linoleum flooring. Use washable curtains and blinds. Clean your home at least once a week. If youre likely to stir up dust, wear a mask or have someone else do the cleaning.
  • Quit smoking. Tobacco smoke is one of the worst irritants known: It paralyzes the tiny hairlike cilia along the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract. It also reduces immune response and leaves a smoker much more susceptible to upper respiratory infection. In addition to preventing asthma attacks, quitting smoking will reduce your risk of cancer, heart disease, and many other conditions, as well as save you money.
  • Learn about weather. Cover your nose and mouth if its cold out. If your asthma is worsened by cold or dry air, wearing a face mask can help.  If you live in a damp climate, talk to your doctor about using a dehumidifier to maintain optimal humidity.
  • Stay healthy. Maintaining good health can dramatically reduce the frequency and intensity of asthma attacks. A problem in the upper airways, such as a respiratory infection, can cause trouble in the lower airways (the bronchial tubes) and precipitate an asthma attack. While taking steps to avoid getting sick makes sense for everyone. Taking care of yourself and treating other conditions linked to asthma will help keep your symptoms under control.

Home remedies and natural treatments for asthma

There are many medical treatments for asthma. These simple natural remedies can also provide relief from symptoms.

1) Equal measures of honey and olive oil may be added to warm milk. The consumption of the resulting milk along with a few cloves of garlic before breakfast acts as an antidote to asthmatic attacks.

2) Mix equal quantities of ginger juice, pomegranate juice and honey. Take one tablespoon of this mixture twice or three times a day.

3) Alternatively, you could mix one teaspoon ground ginger in one and a half cups of water and take one tablespoon of this mixture at bedtime.

4) Cut one inch of ginger into small pieces and add it to a pot of boiling water. Let it steep for five minutes, allow it to cool down and then drink it.

5) To detoxify your lungs, mix one tablespoon of ginger juice and one tablespoon of honey with two tablespoon of fenugreek seeds soaked in water overnight. Drink this solution every morning and evening.
You can also eat raw ginger mixed with salt.

6) Turmeric and honey taken separately early in the morning keeps you away from the painful bouts of asthmatic attacks.

7) When having an asthma attack, massing with mustard oil will help clear the respiratory passages and restore normal breathing. Heat some mustard oil with a little camphor and gently massage it into the chest and upper back. Do this several times a day until the symptoms subside.

8) Herbal tea with ground ginger and a dash of lime juice is also effective. Patients susceptible to asthmatic attacks may choose the same over milk tea to be consumed twice a day. Herbal tea based on licorice root is extremely beneficial.

9) The nutritional properties of figs promote respiratory health and help drain phlegm and alleviate breathing difficulties. Wash three dried figs and soak them in a cup of water overnight. In the morning, eat the soaked figs and drink the fig water on an empty stomach.
This method helps the nutrients quickly enter your bloodstream and provide relief from asthma symptoms.

10) Boil 10 to 15 cloves of garlic in one-half cup of milk. Drink this once a day. You can also make garlic tea by adding three to four cloves of garlic to a pot of hot water and letting it steep for five minutes. Allow it to cool to room temperature and then drink it.

11) Pure eucalyptus oil is an effective treatment for asthma symptoms. Just put a few drops of eucalyptus oil on a paper towel and keep it by your head when sleeping so that you breathe in the aroma. You can also put two to three drops of eucalyptus oil in a pot of boiling water and breathe in the steam. Try to take deep breaths for faster results.

12) Take some dried grapes soak in water and then in cold milk have them on an empty stomach in order to counter asthmatic attacks. Consumption of grapes serves to strengthen lungs and flush the toxic contents of human body.
